What I love about Spring in Austin!

springs

Barton Springs. Eating outside. Eating at trailer park stands outside. Sleeping with the windows open. Bluebonnets. Running around Lady Bird Johnson Lake. Gardening. Long slow golden hours. Listening to KMFA.

You name it – I think Central Texas is the best place to be during spring time! We’ve got great weather, tons of outdoor activities, and not to mention the best public radio.  Spring also serves as quite the muse for classical composers as well.  Something about this time of year brings out the best in us and nature, and that is precisely what shines through on KMFA’s programming.

Whether you are listening to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Beethoven’s Spring Sonata, Aaron Copland’s Spring Fanfare or Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring – we all have something in common with these great composers.  We all welcome spring with open arms!

In fact the membership department at KMFA loves Spring so much that we are featuring some spring inspired CD’s during the Membership Drive! Go on over to https://secure.publicbroadcasting.net/kmfa/default/form.pledgemain to check out these thank you gifts.

Thank you! And enjoy Springtime while we have it.
